Biography

Scott Rocher is a senior web architect and engineer with over 10 years experience using technology like PHP, Symfony2, Ruby on Rails, Memcached, Squid, Javascript, CSS, and HTML5 to build high-scale content and eCommerce web products. He currently lives in Atlanta, Georgia and is the Lead Software Engineer at Half Off Depot

After moving to Los Angeles in 2004, Scott worked as a Web Developer and Project Manager at the USC Institute for Creative Technologies, an innovative research facility in Marina del Rey. In 2005, with the help of his friend Stewart King, Scott created The Black Stripe, a unique online social tool. From June 2007 to March 2010, Scott worked as a Front End Engineer for Yahoo! Entertainment, helping build the next generation of global Movie and TV websites. Before moving to Atlanta, he was an early employee and lead engineer at Santa Monica daily deal startup FamilyFinds.

As usual, at night and on weekends, he is hacking away on Fit Review and BitsyBox. In May 2010, he sold Cluster Truck, a food truck aggregator to a local entrepreneur.

He's married to a physical chemist named Blithe and has a dog named Nola.
